the finely carved twelve-armed Heruka clasping his consort Vajravarahi with his principal arms crossed at the wrist behind her holding the vajra and ghanta in prajnalinganabhinaya, with prescribed ritual implements held in the remaining hands of the outstretched arms, a flayed elephant skin draped behind, Samvara stepping to his left in alidha, and trampling Bhairava and Kalaratri lying prostrate on a lotus pedestal supported by a stepped platform, the group surrounded by a flaming halo

Condition

In excellent condition for an object of this type and age. With areas of accretions in the creases and grooves of the sculpture.With minor areas of red polychromy visible on the consort figure. Loss to the upper part of the aureole on the left side showing minor restoration where a small piece has been glued back onto the sculpture.
