Condition
The canvas is not lined. Examination under UV light reveals an area of retouching to the upper centre corresponding to a repaired tear, an area of retouching to the haystack towards the lower right corner, a spot of retouching to the sky in the upper left corner, a further spot of retouching to the foreground towards the centre of the lower edge, as well as some small scattered spots and lines of retouching along the upper edge, along the upper part of the right edge, notably in the upper corners. There is some further minor spots of retouching in places to the sky as well as to the field in the lower left corner. The canvas is gently undulating. There are fine lines of stable craquelure along the upper parts of the left and right edges as well as to the lower left corner. There are a few faint fly spots to the sky. There is a tiny paint loss towards the upper right corner as well as a further tiny paint loss to the green tree to the left of the central haystack. This work is in fairly good overall condition.
