Condition
The board is sound. Examination under UV light reveals a thick layer of varnish preventing the UV light from fully penetrating, however examination reveals spots of retouching to the centre of the left edge, and a further spot of retouching (measuring 1cm.) to the bottom of the red figure in the lower left quadrant of the composition. There are minor scattered spots of retouching to the background of the sky. There is frame abrasion to the extreme edges of the board, and artist pinholes to all four corners of the work. There are some minor scattered losses to the pigment, including a scratch (approx. 8cm.) towards the centre of the right edge, with associated pigment loss. This work is in fairly good condition.
