The canvas is not lined. Examination under UV light reveals signs of retouching to vertical lines of craquelure on the façade of the rose building at the right of the composition and an area of fluorescence to the wall of the building on the left. There are stretcher bar marks along all four edges. There is some minor paint shrinkage to the roof of the left building and lines of craquelure in places throughout the composition. There is some frame abrasion along the four edges with associated paint losses, not visible when framed. There is a small spot of paint loss to the sky at the right of the spire. This work is in overall fair condition and may benefit from a clean.
