Condition

Executed on buff-coloured paper, laid down on canvas. The sheet is time-stained. There are traces of glue residue along the upper right and left edges, not visible when framed. There is a repaired vertical tear (approximately 7cm. long) towards the upper left corner as well as another repaired horizontal tear (approximately 4cm. long) towards the centre of the left edge. There are artist's pinholes to the lower left and right corners as well as to the table at the centre of the composition. There are fine lines of craquelure and small spots of paint lifting to the red pigment of the central figure, which would benefit from consolidation. This work is in overall good condition.
