Condition

The canvas-board is stable. Examination under UV light reveals a line of retouching running horizontally to the lower centre of the composition, predominantly to the sitter's proper left shoulder (measuring approx. 20cm). There are a few further spots of retouching to the right side of the figure's face as well as to the right part of the lower edge. There is a crease with associated spots of pigment loss to the extreme lower right corner and further minor losses to the other three corners, which are not visible when framed. There is some minor frame abrasion along the extreme edges, not visible when framed. This work is in overall fairly good condition.
