This work is in good condition. The canvas is unlined. There is a vertical stretcher bar mark running down the center of the composition, though it does not detract from the overall appearance of the work. Some scattered stable craqulure, most notably in the in the blue pigment of the water and the yellow pigment of the sky. There is a 7 inch long hairline crack to the left of the gondola. Two minor areas of paint loss to the top left corner, most likely due to frame abrasion. There is a slight undulation to the canvas, most visible in the upper left and lower right corners. Under UV light: some original pigments fluoresce but no in-painting is apparent.
