Another slant-front desk attributed to William King from The Collection of the Late Mrs. George Maurice Morris was sold at Christie's New York on January 22, 1983 (lot 310), and displays a similar gadrooning carved at the top of the bracket foot.  The Morris example is also illustrated in Antiques (November 1944, p. 262) as the frontispiece for the magazine.  On the opposite page of the Morris example (p. 263) there is a chest of drawers attributed to King that displays a near identical decorative drop as well as the gadrooning to the feet.
