Château Cheval Blanc 2002 St. Emilion, 1er Grand Cru Classé (A)
Good levels, excellent appearance, tissue wrapped
A really appealing, scented bouquet. Crisp, black fruit on the palate, with a lovely sweet finish of cassis and chocolate. In 2011, a really tarry/tobacco nose. Big, earthy and rich on the palate. Very good - is this the best 2002 in Bordeaux - I think it is a contender. Surprisingly voluptuous and deliciously spicy. Serena Sutcliffe, MW
