RED SPINEL AND DIAMOND RING AND PAIR OF EARRINGS, SIFEN CHANG

The ring designed as a flower, featuring five red spinel cabochons, accented by round diamonds, and a coordinating pair of earrings, ring size 5½, each signed Sifen Chang in Chinese characters. With signed boxes.

Each piece in good condition, with very light surface scratches to the mountings, noticeable only upon close inspection. Mountings test as platinum; earring backings are stamped 750 for 18 karat (white) gold. The spinels in the ring, stated to weigh 16.16 carats, and the spinels in the earrings, stated to weigh 14.39 carats, are medium to medium deep slightly orangey red to slightly purplish red, heavily included, some with surface reaching inclusions, as is typical for cabochons. The diamonds in the ring, stated to weigh 0.44 carat, and the diamonds in the earrings, stated to weigh 0.68 carat, are approximately G-H color, VS-SI clarity. Total gross weight approximately 18 dwts. Ring length approximately ⅞ inch. Earring length approximately ⅝ inch.
