Crace supplied work to an array of important clients. He collaborated with Pugin on a number of Gothic Revival schemes, including Lismore Castle, Ireland for the 6th Duke of Devonshire and most famously Charles Barry's Palace of Westminster (see previous lot). He used timbers native to Britain which included oak, often inlaid like this lot.
