The photograph is quite accurate. The Louis XVI gilt-bronze mounts in good condition. Very nice blue green color of the jasper which is of later date than the bronzes. Good overall condition, ready to display.

Several vases of this model are known, they were mostly intended to assemble Sèvres porcelain objects. The first examples of "Goblet for assembly" dates back to 1762 at the Sèvres manufactory (G. de Bellaigue, 2009, p. 343). These models were very popular with decorative art dealers whose names are found in purchases from the Manufactory : Jean Dulac, Simon-Philippe Poirier and Dominique Daguerre, Madame Lair and Bazin. On 4 September 4, 1770, Poirier sold for 942 French pounds 'a five-piece garniture set for chimney mantle of French celestial blue with small Roses & mounted in gilt and ormolu bronze'.
