拍品資料及來源

Several identical chairs stamped by Georges Jacob are known to us, including a set of four, auction Christie's Monaco, former Boisgelin collection, 8 December 1990, lot 133. The Athenian motif on the backrest is recurrent in his production. It is also found on a pair of chairs illustrated in L. Groër, Les Decorative Arts de 1790 à 1850, Paris, 1985, p. 23. All the other known models do not have a painted decor on the backrest rail, although we find it on others by this carpenter like a pair of armchairs housed in the Marmottan Museum, Paris.
