Condition
Examined in the frame. Original unlined condition. The surface appears fresh and vibrant and the colors remain bright. Stretcher bar marks are faintly visible on all sides. Under UV: varnish fluoresces green. In the lower half of the composition there are scattered finely applied pin dots of retouching and a few lines of inpainting at the edges to address prior frame abrasion. There are isolated pin dot retouches in the background and a few finely applied dots to the proper right side of the figure's face.
