Condition

Overall in very good condition. The shade is comprised of a cheerful springtime palette with peonies in varying stage of bloom articulated in an array of pinks and orange, ranging from pale pink, to deep red-orange. The background is comprised of naturalistic sky-blue glass, which transitions to a rich grey blue in the lower register. The leaves are executed in a range of vibrant greens. The shade with approximately 8 hairline cracks dispersed throughout, stable. The shade with some extremely minor and light surface soiling concentrated to the contours adjacent to the leadlines, consistent with age. The bronze base is in very good condition and displays a rich russet brown patina. The bronze surfaces with scattered minor surface scratches, abrasions, and light surface soiling and traces of oxidation to the recessed contours of the design. The sockets and paddle switches all appear to be original and undisturbed. With a later reproduction finial with threaded pin in very good condition with extremely light wear. An attractive example of this iconic floral model displaying an unusual and vibrant spring-time color palette.
