Condition

This work is in very good condition overall. There is evidence of handling and wear to the edges, including faint, scattered surface abrasions at the extreme edges, most notably at the upper left corner as well as faint surface soiling at the bottom right corner, in the white areas. Under close inspection, there is an area of pinpoint loss to the pigment 4 1/2 inches from the bottom right edge along the bottom edge as well as a pinpoint area of loss, 3 1/2 inches from the bottom edge, and 15 inches from the left edge. Under close inspection, there is a 1/16 of an inch area of dislocation 4 1/2 inches from the right edge in the lower right quadrant, that is likely stray media from the time of execution. Under Ultraviolet light inspection, there is no evidence of restoration. Unframed.

"Rosenquist began an ongoing series inspired by the vibrant flora around his Florida studio, painting the flowers of this tropical climate in all their bravura and delicacy [...] lush depictions of plant life are interspersed with the faces of women. The precise markings of this human interference allude to mechanical and technological progress that, like the images, is often at odds with nature."
