Condition

This work is in very good condition overall. The top and left edge of the sheet are deckled. The colors are bright, fresh and clean. There are artist's pinholes in the top corners. There is minor dust accumulation to the surface and the surface irregularities to texture of the blue sky in the left portion of the composition are inherent to the artist's working process and chosen medium. Under close inspection, there is a minor pigment loss, less than 1/8 of an inch in size at the bottom left corner. The sheet is hinged verso to the mat along the top edges. Framed under glass.
In response to your inquiry, we are pleased to provide you with a general report of the condition of the property described above. “I spend quite a bit of time looking at art in museums because that is for me one of the great ways of learning. I'll often go to a museum and draw, or sometimes I'll just go and sit and look at a paining for a fairly long time, sometimes as long as a couple of hours. Sometimes making little notations about it or just looking. I see the museum as a kind of bureau of standards setting criteria of excellence, in a way. Things that we have saved that represent some of the most interesting things about human consciousness. So in addition to all the pleasure I get out of simply going to a museum, I also use it as a great resource: I try to steal whatever ideas I can." Wayne Thiebaud
