Premium Lots
In order to bid on "Premium Lots" you must complete the required Premium Lot preregistration application and deliver to Sotheby's such necessary financial references, guarantees, deposits and/ or such other security as Sotheby's may in its absolute discretion require, as security for your bid. Irrevocable Bids
Lots with this symbol indicate that a party has provided Sotheby’s with an irrevocable bid on the lot that will be executed during the sale at a value that ensures that the lot will sell. The irrevocable bidder, who may bid in excess of the irrevocable bid, will be compensated based on the final hammer price in the event he or she is not the successful bidder or may receive a fixed fee in the event he or she is the successful bidder. If the irrevocable bidder is the successful bidder, the fixed fee (if applicable) for providing the irrevocable bid may be netted against the irrevocable bidder’s obligation to pay the full purchase price for the lot and the purchase price reported for the lot shall be net of such fixed fee. If the irrevocable bid is not secured until after the printing of the auction catalogue, a pre-lot announcement will be made indicating that there is an irrevocable bid on the lot. 《林間記》富於象徵意味,畫面絲毫不苟,為郝量筆下聞名遐邇的人物畫之典範,此系列廣受好評。這一系列作品以人體為主體,探究人類形而上的存在,具備藝術家獨樹一幟的意象,透薄素雅的經典用色,而最重要的,是他掌握中國傳統水墨的高超技藝,並將東西方的美學、文化與文學傳統無縫結合。本作構圖讓人聯想到喬托的壁畫《聖方濟各向鳥佈道》,作於意大利亞西西的聖方濟各聖殿;而其標題《林間記》則令人想起文學經典《林間錄》──宋僧惠洪著作,彙集禪宗軼事三百餘篇。此傑作蘊含東西文化之象徵,將古今中外精髓融為一體。

一九八三年出生、現年三十六歲的郝量,近年榮獲參與第五十七屆威尼斯雙年展的主題展,乃中國當代水墨藝術家中最年輕亦是最重要的一位。郝量浸淫傳統水墨畫多年,並不斷研究和臨摹,他的絲絹人像畫、手卷和山水畫皆筆工細膩,兼顧技巧、傳統和主題,將古代水墨畫技法帶進二十一世紀。 他拒絕當代藝術媒材,反在碗缽上碾磨製成傳統膠彩,自成一家。其深沉暗淡的色調重現宋畫意境,但在近距離觀察下,郝量的作品浮現豐富色彩,在色調變化、光影和深度的處理上巧妙精煉,完美呈現文藝復興時期的明暗法技巧。一種若隱若現的美感,吸引觀者探索畫中不同層次;在工筆描線上,藝術家亦以膠彩渲染,營造透明感。郝量的畫法精密細膩,同時歌頌並重塑源遠流長的水墨畫傳統。

郝量勤勉刻苦,在藝術的路上長途跋涉而不言倦。在求學時期,他「沉浸於臨摹、研究國畫,並整合他所搜尋到的一切相關資料,遠超於學院的教學要求。」(芭芭拉·普勒克,〈當代水墨有多當代?郝量與高古軒的回答〉,刊於《COBOSOCIAL》,二〇一八年六月六日) 早年他對歷史題材及古畫技法產生興趣,並在恩師徐累的薰陶下,為之大開眼界,興致更濃;徐累的水墨畫深受西方符號學和超現實主義等藝術運動所啟發,郝量正是受其鼓勵,踏上藝術生涯。對郝量來說,一個畫家必先精通古藝,方能承舊創新,而他的專注努力,世人皆可見;芭芭拉·普勒克指出:「(郝量)不僅掌握水墨技法,亦熟悉卷軸畫常見的多重視角(即「三遠」)。他更進一步,嘗試向現代觀眾灌輸國畫的力量──一種高遠超凡的感官體驗。」(同上)

取材自東西方文化,郝量熟習古典藝術形象、象徵手法和詩詞。在他的作品中,中國傳統藝術的敘述方式、細節和象徵意義與二十一世紀的藝術理論巧妙地交織,結合出獨一無二的藝術語彙,更將時空混合為一。 如策展人高千惠所言:「郝量作品的發展過程,有點類似西遊記。他從中土出發,一路西行,會見了西域傳說中的故事......一個時間點,他不再科學,而是進入文學想像中。他想像人會蛻變、會羽化成蝶,會有三生七世的各種輪迴情緣。」 郝量作品的常見特徵,是以生死為主題──在畫中香客的斗篷下,通常隱現骷髏輪廓。半身肉體,半身軀骨,隱喻自然生命的始終;道家論天人合一,人總歸死亡,超脫形體,皆反於土,生滅流轉,輪迴不息。郝量在創作上費盡心思,透過層層渲染,達到若有若無的視覺效果,與此同時,本作亦深深打動人心,感慨人生短暫,領悟生死的超脫。這幅當代傑作傳承文人畫風,是為郝量筆下兼容並蓄、造詣非凡之典範。
