Condition

This work is in very good condition overall. There is evidence of wear and handling to the edges, including thinned paint in the bottom two corners and very faint hairline craquelure at the pull margins. The colors are bright, fresh and clean. There is evidence of minor hairline craquelure throughout the work, especially in the blue and black painted areas. There is hairline pigment separation in the first pink diagonal segment of the curtains. There are pinpoint losses in the blue toe left of center, on the subjects back in the center of the work, in the green area between the subject's chest and in the subject's fingers right of center. There is a minor loss to an area of impasto in the curtains, approximately 11 in. from the bottom and 2 in. from the left edge. Under Ultraviolet inspection, there is evidence of restoration. Framed.
