Condition

The first painting (Hunt): The painting has been relined. The painted surface seems to be in a good condition. Some minor surface scratches are visible in the hare in the center. Some thinness can be observed in the darker parts of the composition. The colors seem to be nicely preserved. There is a good craquelure pattern consistent with its age. Some discolored retouches can be seen throughout. Under UV light The varnish layer fluoresces for larger part, showing some strengthening in the dark areas, the animals, in the lower foreground and in the trees and the sky areas. The second painting (Fish): The painted surface seems to be in a good condition. Some minor thinness in the darker areas can be seen. The relining has flattened the matter. There is a good craquelure pattern consistent with the age. Some minor discolored retouches throughout. Under UV light The varnish layer fluoresces. Some strengthening mainly in the lower part of the composition can be seen.
