This plate is from a service produced in 1823-1824 and ordered for the table of Peterhof Palace for a hundred settings. The plates are painted with views of Russian towns, imperial palaces and portraits of members of the Imperial family. In 1837, a hundred further pieces were produced and part of this large service sent to Tsarskoe Selo. In 1857, the remaining part of the service was sent to the Belvedere Palace built between 1852 and 1856 by the architect Stackenschneider on Babigon hill at Peterhof.
Part of this service was exhibited in the Hermitage museum in 2016, From the dinner-service Storerooms, decorating the Russian Imperial Table in the Eighteenth to early Twenthieth Centuries, n° 33, pp. 309-311.
