The Golden or Armorial Service comprises 606 pieces and was given as present from Tsar Nicholas I (1796-1855) to his mother Maria Feodorovna (1759-1828) on 22 July 1827 for the Palace of Pavlovsk. Only 120 plates were painted with fruit, all with differing gilt border patterns. 325 pieces are still preserved at Pavlovsk, among them 37 plates.
