A drawing of this model, with same mounts imitating bamboo, is actually kept at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs and could be from the hand of the marchand-mercier Daguerre. Many examples of this model are stamped Weisweiler (twenty known), one can assume that this piece probably result from a collaboration between them.

These two gueridons could be compared to one sold by Christie's, London, 15 June 1997 (lot 174) stamped Adam Weisweiler.
