The present lot bears strong similarities to designs by the celebrated 18th century cabinetmaker Adam Weisweiler, such as simple and elegant forms, including the use of expensive Japanese lacquer panels, and the tapered and fluted hallmark legs that became almost his hallmark.

A comparable table has been sold by Sotheby's in New York, 'A Private Collection vol. 2', 19 April 2007, lot 57 (sold 66 000$).
