The photograph is quite accurate. Expected scratches, dents, chips and stains all throughout the surface. Each side rest with a shrinkage crack (15 cm long). Gilt bronze mounts on all sides, extensively tarnished; one piece of wood, as well as one bronze rosette, are missing on top of the smallest side rest.

This model is inspired by Madame Récamier's daybed, probably executed by Jacob Frères circa 1798 and today at the Louvre museum (OA 11384).
