This is a fragment of a larger marble sculpture (possibly in high relief) with surface dirt, notably in the crevices, consistent with age and handling. There are a few chips and small losses visible to the high points in some places, notably to his proper right brow bone, to his nose tip and along the edges of his neck. An undecipherable inscription is engraved on the border of his cap.
