The canvas is unlined and appears to be on its original stretcher. As visible in the catalogue illustration, the 'armando' part of the signature appears to be partly rubbed. There is some fine craquelure, and a number of scattered small spots of paint flaking are visible under close inspection, however these are not visually distracting overall. Ultra-violet light reveals scattered retouchings, notably along a thin curved line in the background between the heads of the mother and standing girl, a couple of spots above the right wrist of the child, an area in the lower left corner and parts of the right edge, and a number of other small spots and strokes. The colours in the original are somewhat deeper overall than in the catalogue illustration. Good overall condition.
