Son of Guglielmo Ciardi (see lot 43) and brother of Emma Ciardi (see lots 8 and 9) Beppe Ciardi painted mainly in Venice and its surroundings, scenes of everyday life, landscapes and views of the lagoon. Some of his pictures are imbued with a symbolic atmosphere and count among his best works. A larger picture of similar subject sold in Vienna in 2018 for 42 500€.
