拍品資料及來源

Russian of Armenian origin, Gregorio Sciltian left the Soviet Union to settle in Italy in 1923. In his new homeland, Sciltian participates in numerous exhibitions such as the Venice and Milan Biennales before receiving many private orders from influential families such as the works we are currently offering (lots 15, 18, 19 and 20), acquired directly from the artist by the grandfather of the current owners.
Very different in style, the choice of objects and their arrangement reflect strong similarities between Giorgio de Chirico's and Sciltian's work. De Chirico spoke of "Sciltian's theatre"1 and referred to him as "the visual artist par excellence".
