拍品資料及來源

Born in 1905 in Paris, Pierre Klossowski is one of the most enigmatic personalities of the 20th century French cultural scene. Associated with the name "Roberte", omnipresent in his work, he gained international reputation at the Documenta 7 of Kassel in 1982. His pictorial work, to which the artist was entirely dedicated for several years, is considered one of the most original in Europe. Brother of Balthus, friend of Rilke and Gide, fierce theologian, exquisite translator of Virgil, Suetonius, Saint-Augustine and Kafka, Pierre Klossowski is undoubtedly the great master of heterodoxy and put the viewer at the center of his work device. Looking at his painting means becoming its victim.
