2 volumes grand in-8 (234 x 150 mm). Maroquin rouge, encadrement de filets et roulettes dorés, dentelle dorée ornée du fer à l'oiseau, dos lisse orné du même fer, pièces de titre et de tomaison de maroquin vert émeraude, tranches dorées (Reliure de l'époque attribuable à Derome).Quelques petites taches sur les plats, quelques rousseurs et feuillets légèrement brunis. La belle édition grand in-8 illustrée de Didot au sommet de sa gloire. Bel exemplaire dans une reliure attribuable à Derome. Superbe édition de format "noble" grand in-8, imprimée par Didot le jeune avec les nouveaux caractères Saint-Augustin, sur grand papier vélin, ornée d'un frontispice aux portraits de Louis XVI et Henri IV et de 6 figures d'après Cochin gravées par Le Mire, De Launay, Saint-Aubin, Prévost et Simonet. Ces figures avaient été réalisées pour un projet d'édition inachevée en 1781. Provenance : ex-libris à l'encre bleue sur les titres. Référence : Cohen, 386.
