Condition

Lovely condition, pile generally 5- 8 mm in depth, glossy, lustrous wool and flexible handle. Slight oxidisation to browns. Slight wear to upper border with some minor repiling. Rug is very slightly 'waisted' half way up field. Ends with natural brown wool flat-weave and braided end finishes. Beautiful clear colour.

with a row of seven horned animals in a band at the upper end of the field.  Herrmann interprets "these seven dogs, as referring to the key number of the moon. Counting the full, half and quarter lozenges adds to 49 or 7 x 7 which should be interpreted as completion of the moon cycle over 18 years."
