- 35.6cm. height31cm. max. diam.
the body hammered of truncated conical form with concave drip-pan and straight cylindrical neck with conical socket, incised and inlaid in silver and niello (vestiges) with a monumental thuluth inscription set against a ground of spiralling foliate scrolls between two large roundels containing birds and foliate scrolls, with raised ridged bands above and below, the well of the drip-pan and socket with a radial inscription, with modern wooden socket setting
Condition
There is a soldering mark with neck and body, old vertical cracks to neck with some associated oxidisation, most silver inlay and niello missing although vestiges visible, rim of socket with small dents and cracks, interior with discoloration due to oxidisation, some discoloration due to rubbing, as viewed.
