Please note that images of lots 478 and 479 have been inverted in the printed catalogue (but correctly illustrated in the e-catalogue and in the pdf print catalogue available on our website). It has not been possible to see the work entirely unframed. The canvas is not lined. Examination under UV light reveals lines of retouching along the extreme edges, related to frame rubbing. There are a few minor paint losses notably in the buildings and a fly spot towards the centre of the upper edge. Impasto is nice and well preserved. This work is in overall good condition.
