Condition
The canvas is strip-lined and is slighly undulating. There is a milky varnish preventing UV light from fully penetrating, however examination under UV light appears to reveal two vertical lines of retouching (the longest of which is approx. 5 cm long) to the left part of the upper edge and a few further spots of retouching in places, notably to the central part of the composition and towards the centre of the right and left edges. There are some lines and dots of retouching along the extreme edges most predominately to the left part of the lower edge and to the lower right corner, visible under UV light. There are a few scattered hairline lines of craquelures notably visible in the top left sky. There is frame rubbing with associated dots of paint loss along the extreme edges. This work is in overall good condition.
