comprising: a set of seven stem dishes decorated in underglaze blue, polychrome enamels and gilt with stylized plants, the underside signed Dai Ming Chenghua (Seika); two pierced octagonal plates decorated in underglaze blue, polychrome enamels and gilt with bands of plants, signed Dai Ming Chenghua (Seika); three circular plates decorated with the ‘Three Friends of Winter’ in underglaze blue, polychrome enamels, and gilt, accented with additional floral patterns; and a pair of circular bowls decorated in underglaze blue, iron red, and gilt with a ju ('longevity') character within a band of auspicious motifs. 14 pieces.
Condition
Two of the stem dishes each have a short hairline crack from the rim (length of longer approx. 1.2 cm; one stem dish has a shallow chip to the foot (approx. 0.7 cm); the other stem dishes are in overall good condition with only minor expected wear and crazing from firing. Each 'longevity' bowl is in mostly good condition, but one has a hairline crack down one side and crazing throughout, and the other has a small firing blemish to the well. One 'three friends' dish is in good condition; one has a small restored chip to the rim with a larger associated area of over-painting to the exterior; one is in overall good condition but has a small firing imperfection to the well. One pierced octagonal dish is in good condition; the other has a hairline crack across the base.
