描述

  • diameter 13 1/4 in.; 33.8 cm
modelled by Johann Joachim Kändler, in low relief with two swimming swans among bulrushes with a crane in flight above, upon a spiral shell molded ground, the rim painted with the Brühl and Kolowrat-Krakowska arms and scattered flower sprigs, with a gilt border to the rim, crossed swords mark in underglaze-blue, incised III to inside footrim, impressed Dreher's mark to edge of footrim

Condition

The dish is intact and in overall appearance is good. To the rim located at 8 o'clock there is an area of restoration at the rim edge, with some slightly discolouring overpaint and re-gilding to the border. When viewed under a UV light this appears to be two flat chips. There are some scattered small areas of glaze wear to the curve of the well of the dish consistent with stacking. To the footrim there are two small firing cracks which have extended slightly on either side. Some flakes of wear to gilded border.
