Overall in very good condition. The wood surfaces present with some scattered abrasions mostly concentrated to the edges and minor wear mostly concentrated on the feet and the edges of the drawer, consistent with age and gentle use. The wood presents with very faint craquelure, consistent with the material over time. Drawers and fall-front open and close easily. The original leather interior presents with some minor holes, losses, discoloration and scratches, consistent with age and use and not visually distracting. The tassel pulls in good working order. The original ivory elements have been replaced with ivorine. A superbly elegant form executed in finely figured ebony; an overall masterwork of Ruhlmann's oeuvre.
