Condition
The picture is lined - the lining is providing a stable support. There are no signs of craquelure and the paint surface is clean. There are minor frame abrasions along the edges. The picture is ready to hang. UNDER ULTRAVIOLET LIGHT There are areas of retouching through the sky and flecked retouchings to the trees, to the dogs and in the water (lower left corner) and some further retouchings around the central figures and surrounding dogs. FRAME The picture is contained in a fine moulded and plaster gilt frame (probably the original).
