The picture has been lined which is providing a stable structural support. There is one small area of craquelure, lifting paint and associated paint-loss on the rump of the white horse - we would recommend stabilisation and restoration in this area.
UNDER ULTRAVIOLET LIGHT
There is a small area of flecked repainting on the rump and on the legs of the white horse and retouchings along the extreme edges where the paint surface has been rubbed by the rebate of the frame. There are other very minor flecked retouchings elsewhere.
The picture is contained in the original gilt moulded plaster frame.
