Oblong folio (328 x 370mm.), 213 ALBUMEN PRINTS (from 95 x 60mm. to 300 x 215mm., or the reverse) some signed in the negative by Shepherd & Robertson, Bourne, or Bourne & Shepherd, mounted recto and verso on c. 101 card mounts, nearly all with manuscript captions in ink on the mounts, contemporary green half morocco gilt, gilt edges, some dust-soiling and damage to mounts, a few with repaired tears, binding worn, covers detached, lacking backstrip

A MAGNIFICENT ALBUM OF PHOTOGRAPHS, INCLUDING OVER 80 PORTRAITS OF INDIAN MAHARAJAHS, RAJAHS, NAWABS AND NEPALESE ROYALTY, together with images of life and trades in India, portraits of Tibetan people, soldiers, a series of 11 photographs after drawings by J.L. Kipling, a group of c.20 scenes of big game hunting (including a hunting trip in Nepal of the Duke of Portland and Earl de Grey), and views in Darjeeling and Nepal, including the Chinese embassy in Nepal and the installation of the Maharaja of Nepal in 1881.
