FIRST EDITION, second issue (with the key plates to volume 1 bound in), 2 volumes, folio (550 x 367mm.), 2 hand-coloured lithographed titles, volume 1 with lithographed dedication (and plate list on the reverse), volume 2 with letterpress plate list, 79 hand-coloured lithographed plates heightened with gum Arabic, 36 mounted outline key plates (20+16), volume 2 with letterpress text, 16 page Colnaghi General Catalogue dated October 1855 bound in, contemporary maroon half morocco, spines in compartments with raised bands gilt, gilt edges, some light to heavy spotting (mostly to text and margins of plates), extremities slightly rubbed
