Condition

Overall very good condition. When viewed firsthand the shade displays a richly saturated color palette, with the tulip blossoms transitioning from deep crimson at the top to soft coral and pink towards the bottom of the shade, which is accurately represented in the printed catalogue illustration. The two geometric borders display a slightly lighter blue-grey hue when viewed firsthand compared to the catalogue illustration. The shade with approximately 20-25 hairline cracks dispersed throughout, stable. One leaf tile in the foliate band between the geometric borders with a hairline crack with a small and minor associated loss, stable. The shade with some extremely light surface soiling concentrated to the contours adjacent to the leadlines. The telescoping base is in very good condition and displays with a rich brown patina which has been recently cleaned and revitalized by a professional conservator. The patinated bronze surfaces with occasional minor surface scratches and abrasions consistent with age and gentle use, and with some minor traces of oxidation to the recessed contours of the design. With a replaced base switch. The sockets all appear original and undisturbed. With a later replaced finial in very good condition with scattered minor surface scratches, light rubbing, and some minor traces of oxidation. A beautiful example of the model displaying a highly artistic glass selection with rich saturated coloration.
