  • 10cm., 4in. long
cast and chased with Moses and Aaron above St Matthew and St Mark A single only, but complete, similar gold bible mount ascribed to Jacob Scholtz, The Hague, 1776, with Moses and two of the four evangelists is in the Gemeentemuseum, The Hague. It was exhibited in Haags Zilver uit vijf eeuwen, Gemeentemuseum. The Hague, 20 June-27 August, 1967, no. 299.

Condition

Each missing one section of the mount. Each one with a sheet of gold for mounting to the bible which has been pierced for the mounting, general condition excellent, marks pretty good but maker's mark very difficult to read Please note, Condition 11 of the Conditions of Business for Buyers (Online Only) is not applicable to this lot.
