拍品資料及來源

A rare and significant example of a binding by T. J. Cobden Sanderson prior to his founding of the Doves Bindery in 1893. This binding, dated 1886, includes the rare Marguerite floral tool thirteen times across the spine and boards. Cobden-Sanderson limited the use of the open-petalled Marguerite tool to a single other binding, finding it difficult to create impressions from the tool.  Lady Gladys de Grey, later the Marchioness of Ripon, was a patron of the British Arts and Crafts movement and a close friend of Oscar Wilde. A Woman of No Importance is dedicated to her.
