the straight layered pamor steel blade has polished edges, a characteristic found in blades from this region; the fine deeply carved ivory hilt (also distinct to the Palembang region) is in the form of a stylised Garuda and sits in a fine gold filigree cup (selut) supported by a granular gold mendak; the lower part of the hardwood sheath (wrangka) is covered by a gold sleeve (pendok), the front is finely chased and engraved with interlacing vegetal and animal motifs with green enamel highlights

Condition

In very good condition, minor patination affecting the blade and minor losses to the enamelled, minor dirt on the ivory handle, as viewed.
