拍品資料及來源

Peurbach's treatise contained a description of how to calculate the values of sines and chords, in the first place as explained by Arabic astronomers and then according to Ptolemy; Peurbach partly based his work on that of John of Gmunden's De sinubus, chordis et arcubus. The trigonometric tables of Regiomontanus are also published here for the first time. The preface is by Johannes Schöner, a Nuremberg mathematician and astronomer (see lot 584 for a work by him, also printed by Petreius).
