拍品資料及來源

A summary of the Ars Magna by a professor of philosophy at Montpellier (1600-1616) and Padua (1621-1635). This edition was a collaborative production, with the same sheets issued under various imprints. Here, the imprint on title-page “Valentiae, Apud Petrum Pinellum” is accompanied by a large device (pine tree, motto: Sine te nihil); the sheets were also issued without this device on the title (copy in Bayerische Staatsbibliothek, digitised). A reissue with the same device on the title-page, but with the imprint “Coloniae Allobrogorum [i.e. Geneva]: apud Petrum de la Rouiere [i.e. Pierre de La Rivière], 1618” also is recorded. Copies of yet another edition (or issue), in which the imprint is said to be “Valencia, Pedro Patricio Mey”, are listed by USTC 5025564.
