A good copy with a portrait of Colbert to whom the work is dedicated. The work was issued under protection of the same privilège du roi (16 October 1670) as the author’s edition of Le Livre necessaire a toute sorte de conditions (Paris 1671) and Le Livre facile pour aprendre l’arithmetique (Paris 1672), hence it has been designated “3me édition” on its title-page.
