拍品資料及來源

“This is a work explaining how to find areas and volumes of complex shapes by breaking them up into simple sections. This pre-calculus technique was often used, for example, in attempting to find the volume of an irregularly shaped wine barrel” (Tomash & Williams). Kepler expanded on these methods in his Nova stereometria doliorum vinariorum of 1615 (lot 311).
